Innovative Reading

“The excitement and energy around reading has changed dramatically for these children. Instead of approaching reading time reluctantly, they cheer when the books are delivered, are eager to talk about reading with their peers and teachers and identify themselves as readers.”  -Hollyanna Bates, teacher

When students have age-appropriate, relevant books to read at home, their education level increases. The Summit Books for Kids program addresses this issue.

The Author and Poet Visits bring well known, published authors to Summit County to engage students in reading and writing. These visits provide students real live access to authors of books for their age group and reading level.
